SIRMAF, a private limited company, was founded in 1989, and specialized in Rebuilding conventional Machine tools. Subsequently, however, the need to satisfy its customers' needs resulted in SIRMAF also involving itself in selling specialized precision bearings, and machine parts.

The growth of SIRMAF, and the way it has acquired a place in the market, posed a new challenge in the context of some of its customers' requirements: the Design of Machines specially adapted to their specific needs, as well as designing equipment to enable them to optimize the performance of the machines they already have, to prevent them from becoming obsolete. This is how the division of the Company concerned with machine design emerged, and it is a sector in which SIRMAF is beginning to make its mark.

In 1997, the volume of work was such that SIRMAF had to move to larger premises, better able to accommodate everything needed to satisfy the increasing demands of its customers.

Over the years, SIRMAF has established strategic partnerships with firms such as BSI (France), ZAYER (Spain) and LIEBHERR (Germany), thereby ensuring first-rate technical support for their machines in Portugal.

With the goal of excellence firmly in view, in 2001 SIRMAF began to implement a Quality Management System. In July 2003, APCER awarded us Certification under the NP EN ISO 9001:2000 standard (certificate no. 2003/CEP.2028). It was one more victory on the way to fully meeting the demands of our customers.

For all this and because it has a philosophy based on giving ever-better service, SIRMAF took place in the market, equipped with all the human, technical and logistical resources it needs to more than meet the growing needs of its customers.
